DraftKings Predictions Review: Fees, Wallets and US Access

DraftKings Predictions is worth considering for sports fans who want game picks, player markets and combos in a familiar app. Elections and financial events broaden its use. The deciding details are what you pay, whether you can exit and how the contract settles when an event does not go to plan.

Start with Book vs Market to compare available prices for your exact pick and stake. This review combines current US account rules with Predictions-specific app reviews, forum reports and an attributed third-party test. Customer evidence includes successful withdrawals alongside order-entry, settlement and wallet complaints.

What should you know before joining DraftKings Predictions?

These six answers cover trust, selection, trading cost, early exits, settlement and access to your money.

Is DraftKings Predictions a legitimate operator?

Yes. GUS III LLC, trading as DraftKings Predictions, is a CFTC-registered futures commission merchant and NFA member. It must separate customer funds from company money and publishes financial reports. That regulated structure does not insure your trading losses or guarantee an uninterrupted withdrawal.

Does it offer the markets you want?

Game lines, player selections, live trading and eligible combos are part of the product. Elections, crypto and economic events add options beyond sports. DraftKings’ current sports-availability page lists 17 states; access to other categories follows a separate location map.

How much does a trade cost?

At 50¢, 100 contracts cost $52 including the $2 purchase fee. A normal $100 winning payout leaves $48 profit. Fees vary with the contract price and exchange.

Can you sell before the event finishes?

Yes, when there is an available sale before the market closes. The price can be above or below your purchase price. Thin liquidity, unavailable quotes or a trading halt can prevent an exit. An executed purchase cannot simply be canceled.

Who decides whether you win?

The listing exchange’s rules and specified result source control settlement. DraftKings carries DKeX, CDNA and CME contracts. A trade marked “void” can settle at fair market value and return less than you paid; it does not automatically refund the purchase.

How quickly can you get your money out?

There is no single payout time for every withdrawal method. DraftKings’ general guidance lists Online Banking at up to two business days and debit cards at up to 24 hours, where offered. These estimates are separate from event settlement and any account review.

Is DraftKings Predictions worth opening an account with?

Meh: Open NoVig or Kalshi before DraftKings Predictions. The familiar account, live interface and broader event catalogue make a case for giving it a try, but…

Its far less compelling than NoVig or Kalshi for frequent short-term buying and selling: charges apply on each trade, and customers report execution friction in fast-moving markets.

Overall: We would keep it on the back burner until we see these negative factors improved.

Where do other providers have an advantage?

NoVig is a useful fee comparison; Kalshi offers a different trading setup; Sportsbook has its own benefits. The numerical comparisons hold contract price and quantity constant. They are hypothetical examples, not captured live quotes for an identical available selection.

Feature Providers Our assessment
💳Pregame sports singles NoVig charges no trading fee on pregame individual-game singles. At the same executable contract price, that gives it a cost advantage over a charged DraftKings purchase. Its live, futures and parlay treatment differs. Check NoVig’s prices.
📉Low-priced contracts For 100 contracts at 10¢, Kalshi’s standard taker fee is $0.63; DraftKings charges $0.70 on CDNA/DKeX or $1 on CME. Kalshi’s market-specific multipliers can change the result. Compare Kalshi directly.
🩺Sportsbook injury protection Sportsbook Early Exit does not carry over to Predictions. For qualifying injury-related protection, compare the eligible bets and conditions in our DraftKings Sportsbook review. The individual Predictions contract has its own rules. Visit DraftKings Sportsbook.

What is the app like to use?

You can use the website, the main DraftKings: Sports & Casino app or the separate Predictions app. Select a market, choose your side and review the trade slip. The Live tab and in-play statistics help you follow sports positions. The useful test is whether the final price, order amount and selected period match the trade you intended.

Does your existing DraftKings account work?

The login works, but Predictions has its own wallet. Its funds are separate from Sportsbook and other DraftKings products. Deposit into the Predictions wallet for a Predictions trade. First use of the product can require additional identity checks, even if you already use another DraftKings service.

Who can open an account, and where are sports available?

You must be a US resident aged 18 or older, or meet the higher age of majority where you live. Identity and location checks apply. The account provider uses Wedbush Securities for clearing, while the exchange attached to each contract supplies its trading and settlement rules. DKeX is DraftKings’ affiliated exchange.

Which states are on the current sports list?

Alabama, Alaska, California, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Minnesota, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota and Texas. These are the 17 states on DraftKings’ current prediction-sports list. Utah appears under free-to-play contests on that page.

Are non-sports markets available everywhere else?

No. DraftKings distinguishes all-market access, financial-only access, sports restrictions and locations with no markets. Your physical location determines the offering, and trading is unavailable on tribal land. Use the category-specific access check before funding. Our state guide explains the wider availability question.

What do actual customers like and complain about?

Specific reports praise the simple interface and successful payouts, while others describe unreliable order entry. Google Play reviewer Richard Kahute praised the layout and reported a rapid bank withdrawal in August. Casey Duncan’s September review described intermittent problems combining selections. These are individual accounts, not a measured failure rate.

Cole Rush’s October test for Legal Sports Report reported a $23 Venmo withdrawal in three minutes. His Bitcoin position also showed an immediate sell quote 8.4% below the amount paid; he held it rather than executing that sale. This was a commercial affiliate review, and the reported tests were his. Neither figure establishes typical service or SportsIntensity’s own experience.

What frustrates customers trading quickly?

Repeated price confirmations and pending orders appear in the complaints. An October 5 iPhone review by shamrocksaint describes confirmation resets frustrating purchases and exits in short-duration markets. A July 4 review by Doolins3 describes pending orders, cancellations and slow settlement. Neither includes the full order record needed to establish the cause.

Can the two wallets cause confusion?

One recent Predictions user reported a withdrawal affecting the wrong product balance. Reddit user Uzumaki-OUT described using Predictions in South Carolina, returning to North Carolina and selecting a Predictions withdrawal that appeared to reduce Sportsbook funds. The thread shows no resolution and does not establish that travel caused the issue.

How much control do you have over the price and exit?

Eligible trades offer a maximum purchase-price setting, but a completed fill still needs available contracts. That distinction matters when the price changes between choosing a selection and confirming it. A position’s displayed value is also different from a completed sale.

Can you stop an entry filling above your chosen price?

Yes, through Slippage Settings on eligible trades. Set the highest acceptable price in the slip. The order will not fill above that ceiling; a lower platform price-band limit takes precedence. A better fill leaves unused money in your balance. Setting the ceiling does not guarantee that the order fills.

Can you manage every position at any hour?

No. DraftKings currently posts a 5–7 a.m. Eastern maintenance window for select markets. Trading and position management in those markets are unavailable during it. Outside maintenance, an unavailable quote or insufficient liquidity can still block a sale. That matters when you plan to hold a short-duration position overnight.

Markets, settlement and the real cost

Which markets make the account useful?

The product combines familiar sports selections with elections, economics and price events. A category in the public menu does not establish that every selection is available at your location or for your intended stake.

Can you trade ordinary game selections?

Yes: winners, spreads, totals and shorter periods appear in the sports menus. NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, college sports, soccer and tennis are among the listed categories. Compare the same period and line: a first-half total and a full-game total answer different questions.

Are player markets and combos available?

Yes. Football menus include touchdown and yardage selections, and eligible picks can form a combo. DraftKings also documents baseball player markets, season futures and no-run first-inning contracts. Use the builder to establish permitted combinations; the final slip defines the position you are buying.

Does it cover elections and culture?

The catalogue includes congressional, governor and presidential categories, plus culture topics such as awards and music. This gives the account a use between sporting events. Compare the exact question: a candidate winning an election and their party controlling a chamber are separate outcomes.

What financial events can you follow?

Published categories include stock indexes, crypto, commodities, jobs, inflation and Federal Reserve decisions. These are event contracts tied to specified outcomes or price observations. Buying a Bitcoin-price contract does not place Bitcoin in your account, and an index contract does not buy shares in an index fund.

Which settlement rules can change your payout?

Open View Rules in the trade slip to identify the exchange and the contract’s terms. DKeX, CDNA and CME do not have one universal rulebook. The examples below show why a familiar-looking pick needs more than matching team or player names.

Does a void return the amount you spent?

No. DraftKings describes void settlement at exchange-determined fair value. Its example buys at 65¢ and settles at 58¢ after a player is ruled out. For 100 contracts, that returns $58 against a $65 purchase, before fee treatment. The settlement value can also be above the purchase price.

Does an injured player trigger Sportsbook Early Exit?

No. That Sportsbook feature does not apply to Predictions. A contract can contain its own participation or covered-settlement provisions. Read the specific selection’s terms to establish what happens after a nonappearance or injury; the DraftKings name alone does not establish a refund.

Does overtime count in football?

Under CDNA’s published American-football rules, full-game and second-half markets include overtime unless the applicable rules say otherwise; fourth-quarter markets exclude it. An overtime score can therefore change a half or game result without changing the fourth-quarter settlement. Check that CDNA governs your selection.

Which crypto price decides a contract?

The contract’s defined settlement reference and observation time decide it. DraftKings directs readers to CDNA’s published results for those crypto contracts. Results can take 30–60 minutes to appear on that source site. That publication interval is not a promised withdrawal time.

A combo needs its own settlement check. Before combining selections, find the treatment of an affected leg and the full payout conditions. A sportsbook’s familiar void-leg adjustment does not establish what a separately listed exchange contract will pay. Our markets vs sportsbooks guide explains the comparison.

What do buying and selling cost after fees?

The published totals include DraftKings and exchange charges. CME charges 1¢ per contract at 1–19¢ and 95–99¢, and 2¢ at 20–94¢. CDNA/DKeX uses finer tiers, with 2¢ at 30–94¢.

Sell the 100 contracts bought at 50¢ for 60¢ each: $60 proceeds less $2 selling fees leaves $58. Against the $52 purchase total, your profit is $6. This assumes complete execution at those hypothetical prices.

Why does the exchange matter on a longshot?

At 10¢, 100 contracts cost $10.70 on CDNA/DKeX or $11 on CME. Purchases round up and sales down to whole cents. The market rules identify its exchange.

Can you display American odds?

No. Predictions supports Percentage and Multiplier formats. Change the setting through Account → Layout & Odds Format → Prediction Markets. Sportsbook has a separate display setting. The final total paid and potential payout are the useful comparison when another provider quotes American odds.

Funding, withdrawals and account help

How does the welcome offer work?

Trade $5 and get up to $200 in Predictions Dollars over 21 days if eligible. Qualify by November 29, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern.

The qualifying trade can lose.

Who qualifies?

Customers with no previous play, betting or trading across DraftKings products. Registration alone does not disqualify you.

What triggers it?

Make a first cash trade of $5+, including fees; deposit $5+ if required. One welcome reward across Sportsbook/Predictions.

Claiming and using your credits

When is each installment?

$50 initially; claim $50 each on days 7, 14 and 21.

How long can you claim?

Claims expire after 168 hours. Missing one does not cancel later awards.

Can you withdraw the credits?

No. Predictions Dollars are trading credit. Payouts from trades using them enter the cash balance.

When do issued credits expire?

One year after issuance. They can cover trading fees and are spent before cash.

How do you fund the account and withdraw?

Use the Predictions cashier and a personal payment method in your own name. The available funding and withdrawal methods depend on the product and location. Money shown as a total across DraftKings products is not proof that the same amount is available in the Predictions wallet.

Which funding methods should you look for?

DraftKings’ general funding guide lists debit cards, Online Banking, Apple Pay, PayPal and Venmo. The Predictions cashier shows which are enabled for you. A method working for a deposit does not establish that it can receive a withdrawal; check both sides before choosing it.

Can you use a credit card or gift card?

No. Predictions excludes credit cards, DraftKings gift cards and Cash at Cage deposits. Funding another DraftKings product through one of those routes does not make that money eligible for Predictions trading.

What does Online Banking require?

A prior Online Banking deposit and a bank account in your own name. Where offered, the published withdrawal maximum is $100,000 per transaction. DraftKings warns that a rejected transfer or payment to a closed account can take 10–12 business days to return to the account.

Does “processed” mean the bank has received it?

No. It marks the transfer’s processing at DraftKings. The receiving time depends on the payment method. Track the individual withdrawal, amount and destination; DraftKings says requests cannot be expedited. Its general delivery estimates should not be counted from the final whistle.

Two account checks that matter before depositing

What do you need for identity verification?

Your legal name, birth date, residential address and SSN or other required tax identification. A PO box or business address does not replace your home address. If documents are requested, use the secure upload process; current photo identification and proof of residence may be needed.

Can a trip affect an existing position?

Yes. DraftKings’ terms allow location restrictions to affect reducing or closing positions. Approval where you opened a trade does not establish that you can sell it from another state. Confirm access for your destination before relying on an exit while traveling.

How do you get help with a trade or payment?

Use email or live chat and identify the product as Predictions. DraftKings advertises these channels as available 24/7; its address is [email protected]. The company specifically excludes Predictions from the issues handled by @DK_Assist on X.

Does 24/7 support mean an immediate human answer?

No response time is guaranteed. In his reported test, Legal Sports Report’s reviewer failed to reach a human through two chat attempts but received an email reply in roughly an hour. That is one experience, not a service standard.

What helps resolve a disputed settlement?

The trade ID, exchange, contract wording and Transaction History entry. For a void, ask which rule and fair-value calculation determined the credit. For a payment issue, include the withdrawal reference, destination and tracker status. Keep follow-ups in the same support thread.

Can you control deposits and account access?

DraftKings offers deposit limits, activity alerts and self-exclusion through its account controls. A deposit limit caps funding; an activity alert is a reminder. Choose the control that matches what you want to restrict and review its stated scope before confirming it.

What happens to open trades during a cool-off?

You cannot log in or sell existing Predictions positions during the break. Open positions remain live, and withdrawal requests require customer support. A selected cool-off cannot be shortened. Understand that treatment when arranging the break and any help with your remaining balance.

Which alternatives deserve a place on your shortlist?

NoVig is relevant for pregame singles; Kalshi is relevant for exchange trading controls. Use Book vs Market to compare the available prices, then inspect the provider’s final ticket and rules. A lower charge only helps if the selection and executable price suit your trade.

NoVig

Consider it for pregame individual-game singles without a trading fee. Frequent sports-single bettors have a concrete reason to compare it. Live trades, futures and parlays use different fee treatment, so judge those on their own terms. The available quantity at your chosen price matters as well.

Kalshi

Consider it if you want a resting sell order at a chosen target. Kalshi’s Auto Sell feature places that order on the exchange, where it can fill while the app is closed. It can fill only partially when buyers are insufficient. Our review covers the broader account and cost differences.

Should you open a DraftKings Predictions account?

DraftKings Predictions earns a place on the shortlist for its sports selection, familiar app and broader event catalogue. It suits someone who values those features and compares the final return. The customer evidence gives reasons to check execution and wallet handling carefully, especially if your plan depends on quick exits.

Compare the price before you commit the stake

Find your event in Book vs Market, select the exact outcome and compare available returns. Then check the DraftKings trade slip, its exchange rules and your Predictions withdrawal route. Those details establish whether this account improves the trade you actually want to make.

DraftKings Predictions FAQs

Six final answers to common US account and trading questions.

Can you trade sports in California, Texas and Florida?

Yes. All three appear on DraftKings’ current prediction-sports list. Identity, physical-location and contract eligibility checks still apply. Access to one category does not establish access to every market.

Can you use your Sportsbook balance for Predictions?

The Predictions wallet is separate. Its product FAQ says funds are not shared with Sportsbook or other DraftKings products. Use the Predictions funding screen and confirm that product’s available balance.

Can you switch Predictions back to American odds?

No. The available displays are Percentage and Multiplier. Choose one under the Prediction Markets odds setting. Changing the Sportsbook setting does not change the Predictions display.

Does a void guarantee a refund?

No. Exchange-determined fair value can be above or below your purchase price. Review the settlement credit in Transaction History and the rule attached to the contract.

Is an early sale guaranteed?

No. It needs an available price and enough liquidity before trading closes. A previously displayed value is not a commitment to buy your whole position later. Location restrictions and trading interruptions can also affect access.

Can you withdraw during a cool-off?

You must contact customer support to request it. The break blocks login and selling open Predictions contracts. Those positions remain live under their contract terms.
