Moomoo makes the strongest case for people who already use its investing app and want Kalshi event contracts in the same account. The practical trade-off is convenience against trading costs, brokerage account requirements and withdrawal holds.
Start with Book vs Market to compare available prices for your pick and stake, then check moomoo’s final ticket. This review covers the US product, its account requirements and customer reports. Prediction-specific feedback remains limited, so the assessment separates those experiences from reviews of moomoo’s stock-trading service.
What should you know before joining moomoo?
These six answers cover the operator, the available bets, the cost of a position and the route back to your bank.
Is moomoo a legitimate prediction-market provider?
Yes. Moomoo Financial Inc. offers the contracts as a registered futures commission merchant, using Kalshi’s regulated exchange. The exchange determines outcomes; moomoo handles your account. Its securities business’s SIPC membership does not make these event contracts insured investments.
Can you trade more than sports?
Yes: sports, elections, economics, crypto prices, commodities, weather and entertainment are listed. Combos are supported. Availability depends on the contract and your location. A moomoo brokerage account alone does not establish permission to trade every category.
What does a trade really cost?
During introductory pricing, 100 contracts bought at 50¢ cost $51, including the $1 trading fee. A normal $100 winning payout leaves $49 profit. Selling early incurs another fee; the spread and any borrowing costs also affect your return.
Can you exit before the event finishes?
Yes, if your sell order finds sufficient buyers at an acceptable price. A limit order controls your minimum sale price. It can fill partly or remain unfilled. The value shown against a position is not a guaranteed cash-out offer.
How is the result settled?
Kalshi applies the contract’s stated rules; a normal winning contract pays $1 and a loser pays $0. Cancellations and indeterminate outcomes can produce partial payouts. The named result source and measurement time decide the outcome, including on crypto-price markets.
How quickly can you withdraw?
Published ACH delivery is 3–5 business days once funds are withdrawable. Event payouts first pass through moomoo’s account settlement process. New ACH deposits also carry clearance and withdrawal holds. Trading buying power and money available to withdraw are different figures.
Is moomoo worth opening an account with?
Yes: our recommendation rests on our intuitive and frankly enjoyable experience trading on the desktop and mobile app. The deposit and withdrawal process was smooth (with one minor annoyance being my apple card wasn’t an option for depositing. Settlement timelines and access to cash were industry-standard, and customer support was available and easy to connect with when I had questions.
Where does moomoo beat its alternatives?
Compare each provider against the specific trade you want to place. Match the outcome, price, quantity and terms. These three differences help decide which account suits your trade.
| Feature | Providers | Our assessment |
|---|---|---|
| Trading fees at different prices | The cheaper route changes with the contract price. For 100 contracts at 50¢, moomoo’s current fee is $1 versus $1.75 under Kalshi’s standard taker schedule. At 10¢, Kalshi’s fee is $0.63. Market-specific exceptions and resting-order treatment also matter. Compare Kalshi directly. | |
| Pregame sports singles | NoVig charges no trading fee on pregame individual-game singles. At identical executable prices, that costs less than a charged moomoo order. NoVig’s live, futures and parlay treatment differs. Check NoVig’s prices. | |
| Canceled legs and parlay payouts | A moomoo combo can retain a canceled leg at a partial settlement value. FanDuel Sportsbook’s published New York parlay rules remove void selections and recalculate the remainder. Check the rules for your state and sport. Compare FanDuel Sportsbook if that treatment better suits your bet. |
What is the app like, and what account do you need?
Prediction trading uses a moomoo Margin Account. Existing funded customers can use it directly; money held in a Cash Account needs an internal transfer. In the Prediction Markets tab, choose the contract and Yes or No side, set the order and size, then review the cost. A US brokerage reviewer praises the synchronized desktop and mobile interface but finds the number of features overwhelming.
Yes, eligible accounts with securities net assets above $2,000 can use securities margin buying power. That can create a loan and interest costs. Contract purchases reduce securities excess liquidity, and selling an event position does not immediately repair a securities margin deficit. If you intend to use only your own money, check the available cash as well as buying power.
Who operates the service, and who can register?
Moomoo Financial Inc. provides the US account and event-contract service; Kalshi provides the exchange. Moomoo announced the partnership on June 4, 2026. For US tax residents, brokerage signup requires an SSN and a valid US address. Applicants must be at least 18.
Is every contract available in every state?
No. Moomoo expressly limits access by state and contract. Complete prediction-market eligibility checks before funding for a particular event. A state excluded from a bonus is not automatically excluded from all trading. Our availability guide and state guide explain the distinction.
How do you activate prediction trading?
Go to Accounts → All → Account → Trading Permissions → Prediction Markets and apply. Brokerage approval and prediction permission are separate steps. Moomoo lists 1–3 business days for initial account review; identity or address checks can require additional documents. That estimate is not a prediction-permission deadline.
What do actual US customers say?
The useful prediction-specific evidence is mixed and small. One invited US review from June praises prediction trading and reports smooth brokerage deposits and withdrawals. Another US customer disputes Bitcoin contract results and says support did not explain them adequately. Neither account establishes a typical experience.
The settlement complaint compares a Bitcoin threshold with chart candles. Without the exact contract’s data source and calculation rules, those screenshots cannot establish an incorrect result. Moomoo publicly asked the customer to contact support; the customer said she had already done so. No substantive resolution was visible in the reviewed follow-up.
What is the clearest positive?
Customers who already like moomoo’s investing tools gain another product in a familiar app. A separate US Reddit brokerage account describes smooth transfers and synchronized watchlists. That post predates prediction trading, so it supports the interface assessment rather than a claim about event payouts.
What deserves attention before depositing?
The route into and out of the brokerage account. A January US BBB complainant reported being unable to withdraw funds transferred from another broker or return them as instructed. The record remained unanswered. This concerns brokerage money, not prediction winnings, but makes the transfer restrictions below relevant.
How much control do you have over entry and exit?
Limit orders let you specify a purchase or sale price, with execution at that price or better. Check the completed quantity after every order. A partially filled exit leaves you exposed on the contracts still held; an open order alone does not close the position.
How long can a price target remain active?
Day, good till canceled, good till date and immediate or cancel are documented. Good till canceled orders expire after 90 calendar days. Good till date lets you choose an earlier deadline; immediate or cancel fills what is available immediately and cancels the rest.
Which number tells you what an exit will pay?
The executable buying interest for your quantity. A last-traded price or marked position value does not promise that another buyer will take your full holding. Thin markets can leave an order waiting or require a lower selling price. Inspect both price and available size before relying on an early sale.
Markets, settlement and the real cost
Which markets make the account useful?
Moomoo combines sports with financial and news-driven events. Its published categories are broad, but the presence of a category does not establish a complete sportsbook-style menu. Check the specific selection you intend to trade.
Sports: can you find your exact pick?
Sports outcomes and combo contracts are supported. The US product pages show match winners and golf, and the launch included World Cup events. Check the team, game period and line before comparing a quote with a sportsbook. Do not assume every Kalshi-native prop or combo feature appears in moomoo.
Politics and economics: what is the appeal?
Elections, interest-rate decisions and inflation releases broaden the account beyond sports. Those categories suit someone who follows policy or economic data already. For an election, read whether the contract resolves from a projected winner, an official result or another defined milestone.
Crypto and commodities: are you buying the asset?
You are buying a prediction about its price. Current US examples include short-window Bitcoin outcomes and gold and oil events. The threshold, observation window and designated source determine the trade. Ownership of the contract does not give you Bitcoin, bullion or an oil position.
What else is listed?
Weather, entertainment, companies, science and technology appear in the category list. For a weather selection, identify the place, date and measurement in the rules. A broader selection gives you more events to consider; it does not establish enough buyers for a timely exit in each one.
What happens when a result is disputed or an event is canceled?
The written contract governs settlement. Check its result source, observation time and exceptional-outcome rules before entering. A familiar event name can conceal a different settlement condition from the bet you expected.
How does an ordinary win pay?
A winning contract normally pays $1; a losing one pays $0. The payout includes the value you bought. Subtract the original purchase and fees to calculate profit.
Does cancellation return your purchase price?
Not automatically. Exchange rules can assign an intermediate settlement value to a canceled or indeterminate outcome. That value can differ from what you paid.
What happens to an affected combo leg?
Leg settlement values are multiplied. With two winning legs and a third valued at 0.60, 100 combo contracts pay $60. Any losing leg makes the payout zero.
Does a chart prove your crypto contract won?
Only the contract’s specified measurement settles it. A candle from a different feed, timestamp or averaging method can show another number. Ask for the result source and calculation when disputing a threshold.
Check the determination date as well as the event date. An event can finish before the required result is confirmed. Moomoo says ordinary payouts generally arrive within three hours after the official result; that is not a universal settlement deadline.
What do buying, selling and holding cost?
Introductory pricing combines $0 commission with a 1¢ exchange fee per contract on each buy and sell. Outside that period, another 1¢ commission applies per side. Clearing and settlement are free. The examples assume cash funding and one complete fill.
Buy 100 at 50¢: $50 + $1 = $51. Sell at 60¢: $60 − $1 = $59 received. Your net gain is $8. At a 10¢ entry, the same quantity costs $11; its $1 fee consumes 10% of the purchase value.
The spread is a separate cost. Buying at 50¢ and selling immediately at a 48¢ bid loses $2 per 100 contracts before fees. A headline price needs enough available quantity to make the comparison useful.
How are fractional positions charged?
Fee calculations round quantity up to whole contracts. Small fractional trades therefore need particular attention to the order total.
Do more combo legs mean more contract fees?
No. One combo counts as one contract regardless of leg count. Its payout rules still differ from an ordinary single.

Funding, withdrawals and account help
Is there a prediction-market welcome offer?
The September 1–November 12, 2026 campaign offers $10 and $5 trading coupons for a qualifying $100 net deposit.
Rewards require qualifying trades.
Who qualifies?
New MFI customers: no deposit before September 1 and no previous prediction trade. US residents, 18+, with a valid SSN.
What must the deposit do?
Net deposits must reach $100 and settle by November 12. Incoming brokerage transfers do not qualify.
Four conditions to check before claiming
Which residents are excluded?
Massachusetts, New York, Arizona, Nevada, New Jersey and Minnesota. This list concerns the promotion, not all trading access.
When are coupons issued?
Within five business days after deposit settlement.
How do you redeem them?
Activate one in Rewards Center, make the required prediction trade, then receive its value after settlement. Repeat for the second coupon.
When do they expire?
November 12, 11:59 p.m. Eastern, according to the campaign FAQ.
How do you fund the account and get your money back?
Funding runs through the US brokerage account in dollars. There are separate stages for deposit clearance, event proceeds and delivery to your bank. The most useful check is the amount marked available to withdraw, alongside the transfer’s status.
ACH deposits: what is the full wait?
Moomoo’s dedicated ACH guide lists 1–4 business days to settle, followed by four business days before that deposit can be withdrawn. ACH deposits are free. Instant buying power can arrive sooner, but it does not remove the hold. Your transfer screen supplies the applicable deposit limit.
Can you use Apple Pay or Google Pay?
Yes. Moomoo charges no deposit fee for either. Funds are usually credited immediately, although bank reviews can take several hours. The two wallets share limits of $10,000 a day and $50,000 a month. The published instructions require US residence and an SSN.
How much does an ACH withdrawal cost?
Standard ACH withdrawals are free and take a published 3–5 business days to reach a US bank. That delivery estimate begins after the money is eligible to leave. A reversed outgoing transfer can incur a $10 charge.
Is a wire faster, and what does it cost?
Published wire delivery is 1–3 business days. Moomoo lists $20 for a withdrawal to a US bank and $25 to a foreign bank, with possible additional bank charges. For a small payout, the fee can outweigh the time saved.
Two rules that can delay access to cash
When do settled event winnings become withdrawable?
The payout guide allows immediate reuse for event trading and describes transfer to the brokerage account within one business day. Existing deposit restrictions still matter; sending the withdrawal to your bank is another step.
Does the 60-day rule lock up every deposit?
No. It restricts withdrawal or transfer to a different financial institution until 60 days after settlement. Returning funds to the original institution follows the ordinary settlement and hold rules. Money transferred from another brokerage needs particular attention because your bank is a different destination.
How do you get help with a trade or transfer?
Moomoo lists 24/7 online support, [email protected] and US telephone support at 888-721-0610, weekdays 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Eastern. Include your account identifier and the affected order or transfer. The unresolved customer reports make a clear written explanation and a case reference useful; channel availability does not establish response quality.
When should you escalate an unpaid result?
The payout guide says to contact support after 12 hours once the event and determination time have passed. Supply the contract and order ID.
Why can an ACH transfer require more checks?
Moomoo can request identity authentication, including a photo with your ID. Its published review estimate is 1–2 working days after you submit the required material. Follow the specific request in your account; an authentication review is separate from the bank’s transfer time.
When is scheduled maintenance?
Thursday, 3–5 a.m. Eastern, under moomoo’s published prediction-market hours. Other hours are listed as continuous trading, subject to individual contract deadlines and interruptions. An event approaching its result can stop accepting orders before your preferred exit time.
Which records help explain a discrepancy?
Keep the contract terms, order confirmation, fill quantity, fee and transfer reference. Moomoo’s statement tool lets you select an account and filter daily or monthly records. For a disputed result, identify the contractual measurement; for a withdrawal, identify the funding source and requested destination.
Which alternative should you compare first?
Kalshi is the direct comparison for the underlying exchange; NoVig is useful for pregame sports singles. Use Book vs Market to compare the available alternatives, then reconcile the result with moomoo’s final order cost.
Kalshi
Compare a direct account if prediction trading is your main reason for joining. Assess its funding options, order controls and market access alongside moomoo. Your existing moomoo login is convenient when its charges and account requirements suit the trades you want to place.
NoVig
Compare it for pregame individual-game singles without a trading fee. That advantage is real when the price and available quantity match. It does not make NoVig automatically cheaper on every live bet, future or parlay; each uses its own fee treatment.
Should you open a moomoo prediction-market account?
Consider it if you already invest with moomoo or its final price beats your other accounts. A dedicated sports bettor has more reason to compare first: brokerage onboarding, margin buying power and withdrawal routing add decisions beyond choosing a pick. The available customer evidence supports asking clear questions about settlement and cash access; it does not support either a blanket endorsement or a claim that prediction payouts routinely fail.
Find your selection in Book vs Market and compare available returns for your stake. Then check moomoo’s quote, the amount you can actually buy, its settlement conditions and the cost of a planned exit. Choose the account that gives your exact trade the better terms.

Moomoo prediction markets FAQs
Six final answers to common US account and trading questions.
Do you need a moomoo brokerage account?
Yes, a Margin Account with prediction-market permission. A Cash Account alone does not provide the required trading setup. Existing customers with funds in Cash need to move them internally before using them for event contracts.
Is moomoo the same account as Kalshi?
No. Moomoo provides access to Kalshi contracts through its own brokerage relationship. Its funding, support and fee rules apply. Owning a direct Kalshi account does not mean you have completed moomoo’s account application.
Do you have to borrow money to trade?
No. Having a Margin Account does not require using a loan. Fund purchases with your own available cash if that is your intention. Buying power can include borrowing capacity, so check the cash balance before submitting an order.
Do you need cryptocurrency to trade Bitcoin predictions?
No. The event trade uses dollar buying power in your account. You are taking a view on a defined Bitcoin-price outcome. Buying the contract does not require buying or transferring Bitcoin.
Can you always cash out early?
No. You need an executable sale for the quantity you want to close. A limit order can remain unfilled, and a partial sale leaves the rest of the position open. Plan for the possibility of holding until settlement.
Why can you trade with money you cannot withdraw?
Buying power can arrive before a deposit clears and its withdrawal hold ends. Event proceeds also follow their account-transfer process. Check the withdrawable amount and whether the destination matches the institution that supplied the money.
